Johanna grew up in a creative family in Germany and learned to love the process of making things by hand at a young age. Her Sundays were often spent with her Fashion designer mom illustrating, sewing doll clothes, making paper collages and many other kind of crafts.
Other then that she spent most of her childhood roaming the countryside and drawing.
Johanna loves traveling and living in different countries.
Originally having been training as an interior designer in South Africa, she enrolled at Parsons School of Design to study Graphic Design as soon as she moved to New York and has been professionally designing for clients for the past 15 years.
Johanna believes in minimal design, not only for aesthetic reasons but because she hopes that her designs will bring some calmness, peacefulness and joy to the recipient of her goods.
She is inspired by nature, her travels, children’s illustrations, typography, and life in general.
When she is not jack of all trades at 12fifteen, Johanna loves Yoga, running, spending time with her family, and sitting down with good friends for hours of food and long, meaningful, and fun conversations.
