12fifteen is a boutique design and letterpress studio located in an old loft building in Stamford, CT.
Our designs are modern, minimalistic, and fun. They start either as a sketch which is scanned into the computer or are created directly in Adobe Illustrator.
Once perfected, plates are ordered, mounted onto one of our vintage presses and voila, the letterpress printing fun begins.
The combination of our designs, using a printing technique from the 15th century, and only the finest papers, puts a smile on our face every time we see the finished products.
But don’t let us fool you, those vintage presses are as temperamental and moody as a 2 year old child and to get to the finished product often includes, begging, swearing, bribing and the various other tricks. Which is one of the reasons we love our job so much, every print job is different and there is never a dull moment.
12fifteen was established in 2006 by Johanna Anderes and she acquired her first letterpress in 2008.
12fifteen designs have been seen on blogs such as Apartment Therapy, Ohsobeautifulpaper, decor8, UrbanOutfitters, and Notcot, just to name a few.
Our designs have also been published in better homes + gardens magazine as well as in various books.
How did we come up with the name 12fifteen? It is not, as often assumed, the time when we have the greatest ideas, but the birthday of Johanna’s son (and her best creation to this date).
